About Shengzhi Wang
Welcome! I am a Ph.D. student in the BMT group at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), supervised by Prof. Samuel Kwok Wai Au. My research interests include legged robot locomotion, loco-manipulation, whole-body control, teleoperation of legged-manipulator systems, and multi-robot cooperative control.
I welcome students interested in research projects or internships, as well as potential research collaborators. Please see my research interests and current topics for details.
Background
Prior to joining CUHK, I earned dual B.Sc. degrees from China University of Mining and Technology, China, and the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, in 2018. I received my M.Sc. degree with distinction in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, in 2021. I also completed my master’s thesis at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), supervised by Prof. Christian Ott, focusing on humanoid robot locomotion control.
Beyond Research
I am passionate about robotics and hope to build a bipedal robot that can learn from and understand the world around it. Outside robotics, I enjoy learning and sports.
